Cloudistics composable platform provides true software-defined storage.  By aggregating the storage resources under the AON network management layer into the software-defined SAN, storage resources are separated from compute resources and gain the benefits of high availability controllers, dedicated I/O resources, industry-leading storage efficiency and scale out performance.  Cloudistics software defined SAN offers the full benefits of traditional converged infrastructure, with the agility and ease of deployment you receive from the Cloud.

Software-defined SAN is tightly integrated into the Cloud Controller™ and our Storage Block, optimizing the data I/O path to provide the highest levels of performance and lowest latency with no impact to the host that the VM’s runs on.

Single Pane of Glass Management

The software-defined SAN is integrated into the modern SaaS Cloud Controller™ for centralized control and as part of the entire composable cloud, removing the need for training and operating specialized storage interfaces.  The Cloud Controller enables rapid visibility into your storage utilization with broad monitoring and deep performance analytics.

Proactive EarlyInsight™ Health Service

EarlyInsight provides proactive and cloud-based monitoring of your storage. If an issue occurs, our service team will automatically create a ticket and notify you and provide with a remediation plan.

Granular Non-disruptive Scale-up or Scale-out

No-disruptively scale out by simply adding additional storage blocks. Our open architecture allows the use of dissimilar storage blocks within the same pool. Non-disruptively scale up by simply adding more flash to an existing block to grow capacity and performance.

VM-centric Policy-based Management

Using simple policies, all tasks are automated and storage resources are balanced to eliminate management time and to automatically optimize performance.


Software-defined SAN was designed from the ground for flash technology.  Our storage latency is sub-millisecond with more than 200,000 IOPS per storage block and can be deployed for less than a $1 per GB of usable capacity—over 55% less than the cost of competing hybrid hyper-converged solutions.

Deduplication and Compression

Software-based deduplication and compression optimizes all-flash storage capacity, providing as much as 5x data reduction. Dedicated storage controllers eliminate CPU and memory overhead on the hosts.

Advanced Data Protection

Data protection is managed by the dedicated storage controllers for all resources which provides the added benefit of no overhead required by the compute resources where the VM’s run. Cloudistics protection overhead is limited to 25%, which is industry leading. In comparison, a competing HCI solution can extend to 50%.

Erasure Coding

Built-in drive level Erasure Coding optimizes the disk resiliency and space profile.

Always On Data-at-rest Encryption

Software-based drive level encryption provides data-at-rest security at the Storage Block level and supports our space efficiency features, which include deduplication and compression. Our encryption is built for compliance requirements and offers simple key management with support for KMIP compliant key managers, such as SafeNet, and Vormetric. It is FIPS 140-2 validated, meeting stringent US Federal Government standards.

Site Protection

Integrated asynchronous replication provides protection between two geographically separate sites. Users can set granular protection on a per-VM basis all for 50% lower costs than competing solutions.

Quality of Service (QoS)

Assignable performance profiles limit and monitor the storage bandwidth and/or IOPS on a VM by VM basis.

Support for Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) technology

This feature is supported by our software-defined SAN and provides OS layer high availability.

No Additional Networking Required

All network resources are managed and delivered through our AON network management, delivering simple plug-and-play storage expansions without architectural and network changes.

Full-Featured Rest API

A programmable API provides the ease and scalability of automation with a set of full-featured command sets to support any CLI.

Built-in Failure Tolerance and Advanced Availability

Software-defined SAN delivers RAID and cache mirroring, software-based checksums and redundant controllers to ensure that data is never lost if a disk, host, network, or rack fails. It seamlessly supports our VM-centric asynchronous replication delivering RPOs of up to 5 minutes.

Container Support

Out of the box persistent storage is integrated for customers that want to take advantage of container technology for running stateful, data-intensive applications such as databases and modern cloud-native applications.  Cloudistics supports Docker Swarm and Kubernetes.
