Najaf Husain

CEO & Founder
Naj is a technology entrepreneur and investor with over 25 years of experience building companies and managing capital investments in the infrastructure software market. Previously, he was Founder and CEO of AppAssure Software, which he founded in 2006 and which became the world’s fastest growing storage software ever, according to INC Magazine. AppAssure revenue grew 2.43x compounding annually since inception until the acquisition by Dell in February 2012. In total, the company amassed over 6,500 enterprise customers. The business continues to excel within Dell as one of its 18 fastest growing assets. Prior to AppAssure, Naj served as a consultant with Bain Capital Ventures and co-invested in many companies, including Solarwinds, Network Intelligence, Dynatrace, AppNeta, and SevOne. Earlier in his career, Naj was Founder and CEO of WQuinn Associates, which was acquired by Precise Software (PRSE) and subsequently acquired by Veritas Software (VRTS) in 2003. Naj holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Srinidhi Varadarajan

CTO & Founder
Srinidhi was the Vice President and General Manager of the Dell Data Protection Division at Dell. He has over 15 years of experience in architecting and building advanced high-performance computing environments, scalable file systems, and storage subsystems in successful startup companies and academia. Prior to Dell, Srinidhi was one of the founders and the CTO of AppAssure, the Director of the Center for High-End Computing Systems, and an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the State University of New York, Stony Brook in 2000. Srinidhi is a Faculty Fellow in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech and a recipient of the Computerworld Honors Award in 2004 in the Science category, the NSF CAREER Award in 2002, and the Egg Factory Technology Innovation Award in 2003. In 2004, he was honored by MIT Technology Review as one of the top 100 (TR100) young innovators transforming technology. In 2005, HPCWire named him as one of the top researchers in the field of supercomputing. Srinidhi has authored over forty peer-reviewed publications and owns eight patents.

Todd Fredrick

CRO & Founder
Todd is a software executive with over 25 years of experience in building and growing software companies. Using his extensive sales and operational experience, Todd has developed an innovative, data-driven sales and marketing methodology to create go-to-market strategies that generate awareness and drive revenue. These techniques produce significant and consistent revenue and are proven to be highly scalable. As one of the founders of AppAssure, Todd grew the company’s revenue from zero to $25 million in four years, making AppAssure the fastest-growing backup company worldwide, as reported by INC Magazine. Todd has also held executive leadership positions at Dell, Symantec, Veritas, Precise, and WQuinn. He holds an MS in Information Management from Marymount University and a BS in Marketing from Virginia Tech.

Steve Conner

VP of Sales
Steve brings more than 20 years of experience in building and leading highly motivated sales teams to Cloudistics where he will serves as the VP of Sales. Prior to Cloudistics, Steve held multiple director level positions at Nutanix where he successfully built three multi-million dollar service units in three different market spaces – managed hosting, government services, and value added product services. Steve has also held positions as Principal at Sequoia Worldwide; Vice President of Technology Innovation at Arrow Electronics; Vice President & CTO of InScope International which was later acquired by Arrow Electronics; Chief Technology Officer for Absulon Technology Partners, which was later acquired by InScope International; and Director of Professional Services at Exodus Communications. Steve holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from George Mason University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from the University of Richmond, and is currently completing his Masters of Business Administration at the Florida Institute of Technology. Steve also serves as a Scout Master for Troop 51 of the Boy Scouts of America in Herndon, Virginia.

Dr. Jai Menon

IBM Fellow Emeritus, Founding Head of Dell Research, Chief Scientist of Cloudistics
Dr. Jai Menon has served as CTO for multi-billion dollar Systems businesses (Servers, Storage, Networking) at both IBM and Dell.
Jai was an IBM Fellow, IBM’s highest technical honor, and one of the early pioneers who helped create the technology behind what is now a $20B RAID industry. He impacted every significant IBM RAID product between 1990 & 2010, and he co-invented one of the earliest RAID-6 codes in the industry called EVENODD. He was also the leader of the team that created the industry’s first, and still the most successful, storage virtualization product. When he left IBM, Jai was Chief Technology Officer for Systems Group, responsible for guiding 15,000 developers. In 2012, he joined Dell as VP and CTO for Dell Enterprise Solutions Group. In 2013, he became Head of Research and Chief Research Officer for Dell. Jai holds 53 patents, has published 82 papers, and is contributing author to three books on database and storage systems. He is an IEEE Fellow and an IBM Master Inventor, he is a Distinguished Alumnus of both IIT, Madras and Ohio State University, and he is a recipient of the IEEE Wallace McDowell Award and the IEEE Reynold B. Johnson Information Systems Award. He serves on several university, customer and company advisory boards.

Dr. Pardha Pyla

CXO & VP of Product Management
Pardha is an award-winning designer and the former Global Head of Mobile Design at Bloomberg L.P., where he provided design leadership for strategic initiatives on the Bloomberg Professional Service. In his previous career as an academic researcher and consultant he developed practitioner-oriented user experience methodologies, authored several peer-reviewed research papers, and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in human-computer interaction and software engineering. Pardha is the coauthor of a widely adopted and award-winning textbook on user experience–The UX Book: Process and Guidelines for Ensuring a Quality User Experience. Pardha holds a BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Nagarjuna University in India, MS degrees in both Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Virginia Tech, and a PhD in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.

Carmelo McCutcheon

VP of Pre-Sales Engineering and Services
Carmelo leads pre-sales, post-sales, and solutions architecture at Cloudistics. His team helps customers and technology partners deploy their solutions within the Cloudistics platform. Prior to working at Cloudistics he was a Senior Manager at EMC where he led the Federal Civilian pre-sales engineering team of 46 engineers and managers. Carmelo has run major pre-sales and professional service organizations for DDN and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) prior to working at EMC. He also held the Chief Evangelist role for HDS’s Federal business and acted as the lead Technologist and voice for Hitachi within the Federal Market. Prior to that, he has held leadership and Technical lead roles at NetApp, Strategic Business Systems, Telefonica-Data, and Coradiant.

Jerome Ajot

VP of Engineering
Jerome is the lead for both the R&D and Engineering teams at Cloudistics. Early in his career, he was a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he published multiple papers related to traffic simulation, speech recognition, and pattern matching. He later joined Red Hat and worked on several projects for the Consulting team, including accomplishments with iJet, DISA, and RCG, among others. While at Red Hat, Jerome served as an architect and technical lead on the design and implementation of the Positive Train Control ITCM System, providing a safe, reliable, and interoperable communication system for the nation’s major railroad companies. He also served as the Red Hat Service Delivery Manager for the Verimatrix project in San Diego. Jerome holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Burgundy in France.

Bill Veghte

Advisor of Cloudistics
A veteran technology executive, Bill has built some of the world’s largest consumer and business products available today. In doing so, he’s led businesses and teams that have changed the world. Most recently, Bill served as Hewlett-Packard’s Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Group. Prior to that role, he was HP’s Chief Operating Officer, where he defined strategy and enabled operational excellence across the company. He first joined HP in 2009 as Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of HP Software. In 1990, Bill joined Microsoft as one of the first four people assigned to develop what became Microsoft Office. He spent two decades at the company in a variety of senior leadership positions where he oversaw business and consumer product development, sales and marketing. After he established Office and worked on its first two releases, Bill went on to lead other businesses including Windows and Windows Server. Bill sits on the Board of Directors at VMTurbo and Xero. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies from Harvard University.

Saumil Udayan Shah

CEO of Net-Square, Security Advisor of Cloudistics
Saumil is the founder and CEO of Net-Square, providing cutting-edge information security services to clients around the globe. Saumil is an internationally-recognized speaker and instructor, having regularly presented at conferences like Blackhat, RSA, CanSecWest, PacSec, EUSecWest, Hack.lu, Hack In The Box, and others. He has authored two books, Web Hacking: Attacks and Defense and The Anti-Virus Book. Before Net-Square, he worked with Foundstone Inc. and Ernst & Young in the US. He is currently a guest faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for their Management Development Programmes. Saumil graduated with an MS in Computer Science from Purdue University and a BE in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University. He spends his leisure time breaking software, flying kites, traveling around the world, and taking pictures.

Mike Woster

Chief Revenue Officer and a Founding Executive at Linux Foundation
Mike Woster is the Chief Revenue Officer and a Founding Executive of the $70 million Linux Foundation. The Linux Foundation builds ecosystems around open source projects that span tens of thousands of community developers and over 800 corporate members across all areas of technology. Notable industry initiatives Mike helped launch include Node.js Foundation, Hyperledger Project, Cloud Native Compute Foundation, Open Container Initiative, Cloud Foundry Foundation, OpenDaylight, AllSeen Alliance, and DroneCode among many others. Mike and his team have been the engine for growth and sustainability at The Linux Foundation. He has developed a unique strategy to expand the foundation beyond the Linux kernel to become a high growth business that provides strategic advice and networking for businesses wanting to leverage open source, builds ecosystems for developers and corporations around disruptive open source technologies, and delivers Linux and open source training and certification. Mike built and operated the Collaborative Projects, Training, and IT services business units, oversaw finance and operations, and hired much of the executive team to scale the business. He maintains strong relationships with a vast network of technology thought leaders and C-suite executives at the hottest tech startups and Fortune 100s. Mike earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Computer Science and Honors Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Ben Nye

CEO of VMTurbo, Board Member of Cloudistics
Ben Nye is CEO of VMTurbo. Ben has been a leader in the enterprise software space for more than 20 years. Prior to VMTurbo, Ben was senior vice president at Veritas Software following its acquisition of Precise Software, where he served as COO and CFO. During his tenure, Ben helped build Precise from a $10M privately-held company to a $100M public company – which subsequently became the fastest growing public company in its space. Ben also is co-managing partner at Bain Capital Ventures. In early 2015 Ben was named to Forbes’ annual “Midas List” of top VC investors, making the list for the third time. Ben also currently serves on the board of several companies, including Solarwinds, Rapid7, SevOne, and AppNeta. Previously, Ben was a principal at Allied Capital. He also served as a political appointee member of the Senior Executive Service and direct report to US Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lloyd Bentsen. A Harvard Scholar, Ben graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Business School.

Jack Sweeney

CEO of SevOne, Board Member of Cloudistics
Jack Sweeney is CEO of SevOne. Prior to SevOne, Jack served as a Managing Director for Bain Capital Ventures. His career includes a variety of leadership roles at fast-growth technology companies. He has served at the helm of six companies as CEO, leading all to successful returns for investors. He has also provided strategic guidance to numerous companies, as an investing board member and chairman, that address the next generation of technology, including infrastructure software, data security and networking. Jack is a technology entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years of experience managing capital investments and operations in the information technology markets. He has served in executive roles at Axeda, AppNeta (formerly Apparent Networks, Inc.), EMC, Stargus, and EPiCON Inc. Prior to joining EPiCON, he was a founding employee and served as Chief Executive Officer of Bell Atlantic Network Integration (BANI). During his time at BANI he started a regional network services division and turned it into a $330 million global organization with over 1200 employees.
